My weekend was about to finish up on the happy side today but I went to see the movie ” Bad Santa” starring Billy Bob Thornton. It’s rated “R” so I figured it would be free from immature and adolecent pains in my ass. Thankfully, it wasn’t a replay of “The Cat in the Hat”. The problem was that people were bringing in toddlers into the theater. Whether they were at an age where they could comprehend the story or not is debatable. During the whole movie, Santa was either drunk or hung over. The “F” word was said at least 20 times as well!

I’m seriously calling the theatre to bitch about that.

Here’s part of my conversation with a friend about the issue just to show I’m not two faced about the issue.

Steve: i just got back from seeing “Bad Santa” and there were kids there…like 5 year old impressionable kids

Kev: yeah, thats america today

Kev: rockstar has another lawsuit cuz some 10 year old was playing gta then went out and shot at some cars with a shotgun

Steve: god damned parent groups

Steve: they piss me off…whenever they suck as parents and their kids flip out right away they blame music or video games.

Steve: cant they ever take responsibility for the fucking shitty parenting?

Steve: ….anyway, im done ranting about that. for now.

Kev: what happened was the kid killed someone with the shotgun, so the family of the dea person is sueing rockstar, sony, wal-mart and the parents of the 10 year old

Steve: that is sooo fucking shitty

STeve: think the case has a chance?

Kev: dont know

Steve: it shouldnt…its like when they tried Ozzy for suicide solution

But by now you should know my stance on all this politically correct bullshit.

POP GOES THE EXHIBIT

from NWI TIMES

The Center for Visual and Perfoming Arts in Munster, Indiana is hosting “The Prints of Andy Warhol (From A to B and Back Again),” which is a major retrospective of the inconic artist’s works. Warhol, who was obsessed with the glamour of fame, mass-produced stars’ images to make them as accessible as canned soup. The show will feature portraits of Elizabeth Taylor and Jane Fonda. And of course the infamous soup cans will be displayed as well. Each piece will also have quotes from Andy Warhol by it to give a sense of his cynicism toward art and life.

I plan on going to see this exhibit… if you do as well,

The “Andy Warhol” exhibit will be open daily through Feb. 15 at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts in Munster.

Admission to is $7 at the door, $5 for students and seniors. For information, call the Center for Visual and Performing Arts in Munster at (219) 836-1839.

Remember the guy who trashed the gate yesterday? Well he was back at work today. Un fucking believeable! Anywhere else the guy would have been out on his ass but not at Silverline. You can do anything you want there as long as it doesnt stop them from making poor quality windows. Anyway…enough of that.

CDL license- 75 dollars and a few hours study time

Year’s salary driving a truck- 42,000 dollars

Forgetting there is a 40 foot trailer attached to the back of your semi- PRICELESS!

Incase you dont understand, this asshole spotter who has been driving trucks for 15 years managed to forget there was a 40 foot trailer attached to his semi today. Earlier in the afternoon he hit a light post and it now stands at an angle. At around 8 PM is when the fun happened.

First he took out the whole [motorized] gate at Silverline and then managed to rip a cement pole out of the ground and get his trailer stuck 4 feet in the air. The maintenance mechanics had to cut the bottom of the trailer out with a torch to move it.

When his boss asked him what happened his response was “I forgot I had a trailer”

It should go without saying that this asshole will be fired but since it is where I work, the guy will be given an award and a pay raise.

I just got back from the movies. Sarah and I saw “The Cat in the Hat”. The movie was not great, it was not spectacular, but it was good…and better than mediocre. Mike Myers did a good job of being the cat but I think it could have been better. If anything at all; his performance of the cat was a little off the wall. All in all I liked it, I liked it here and there and everywhere. I liked it Sam I Am; I did like it with green eggs and ham.

The special effects were just the norm but they suited the movie. To my suprise it also followed the story pretty closely but there was some stuff that needed to be added to fill time and space. Thing 1 and Thing 2 were didn’t say much but they commanded a presence just the same as The Cat himself. If you like the book you will like the movie.

The movie was fine but the thing that pissed me off was the row of 15 year olds yelling and screaming and bumping my chair while arguing and fighting behind me for the 45 minutes before the movie started. Every time I go to a movie that isnt rated “R” I get that same experience. The only other way to avoid it is to go to a movie in the middle of the afternoon when kids are in school or go to one that is near curfew for minors.
